Something about me
My name’s Louis and I am 24 years old.
Having always had a passion for anything design, I decided to attend Ravensbourne University in order to obtain a foundation diploma in art and design. Doing so allowed me to try many different creative paths, whilst also bettering my skills in 3d modelling and rendering. I was then asked to make something physical and created a stand for a plant pot holder, which I created out of oak. This project really started my love for the making side of things, and so I found a course close to home where I could learn how to properly make furniture.
I studied at the Kent Furniture Craft School under Peter Quin, Master Furniture Maker (The Furniture Maker’s Company): and Andrew Lapthorne, Fellow of the society of Designer Craftsmen, Designer and Maker. As well as obtaining my City and Guilds qualifications, I made some magnificent memories with some spectacular people.
When nearing the end of my tuition, I decided to apply for an internship at Robinson House Studio, to work for the accredited Marc Fish. I was elated when he told me that I had been accepted. My experience working under Marc Fish was an invaluable experience, in which I have learnt so much.
Having completed my internship, I am eager to prove myself and better my knowledge in woodworking, through a full time role.
Outside of woodworking, I am usually tinkering with old cars or practising my newfound love for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
